LES BEAUX JOURS

LES BEAUX JOURS is the Centre photographique’s third project in Rouen’s Saint-Sever garden. For four days, four artists invited children from the Les Kuramas municipal elementary leisure center to explore the garden’s territory through joyful experimentation. The aim of this project was to awaken the participants to the plurality of photographic approaches possible in an outdoor space with the surrounding nature.

The four artists invited for the project are part of FRUTESCENS 2022, the first edition of the program dedicated to young French photography, initiated by the Centre photographique Rouen Normandie as part of the European platform for emerging photography FUTURES, co-financed by Creative Europe.

With Anaïs Boileau, we take the pulse of trees, scan trunks and bark and raise the colors high. With Coline Jourdan, we collect leaves and flowers, and watch a blue nature appear thanks to the old cyanotype technique. With Pauline Hisbacq, we put our words to paper on large white sheets and demonstrate for the garden of our dreams. With Nolwenn Brod, we take on strange postures, climbing trees and lying on hedges.

Project conceived by the Centre photographique Rouen Normandie, as part of the Entre les images program supported by the Diagonal network and funded by the French Ministry of Culture. It is also part of the Tes vacances à Rouen program implemented by the Direction de la Vie sportive and the Direction of Culture, de la jeunesse et de la vie associative de la Ville de Rouen, August 2022.
