Process :
The project offers to discover and develop a mode of expression both personal and collective mixing photography and dance. Initiation and practice alternate throughout the sessions to allow each person to progress at his or her own pace and to appropriate the artistic forms shared by the artists. With choreographer Frédérike Unger, co-founder of the company Étant donné, the young people approach the practice of dance as paths of reflection that lead to observing, analyzing and verbalizing the dance. They create solos that, when put together, form a coherent whole. Photographer Anouchka Renaud-Eck shares her portrait practice by focusing on the expression of the self, a state or a path. The teenagers are first invited to discover the basics of photography – its vocabulary, its practice – in order to become familiar with the camera. They then experiment with danced portraits based on the solos they have previously created and create self-portraits to question and confront the notions of self-perception and representation by a third party. The objective of these workshops is to cross universes and artistic practices around common themes: movement, the body and expression.

Anouchka Renaud-Eck also offers them an introduction to gif, a loop of animated images by software, in order to introduce movement from a different angle. They can thus take a new look at the images they produce by digitally animating them.

Restitution :
From the portraits made in photography, certain parts of the body are isolated, enlarged and printed. In a second step, the young people perform a choreography with these body parts as props. Shots are then taken in bursts, which allows the realization of a flipbook, final edition of the project.
