Itinerary: double visits

AUZOUX, Hier et aujourd'hui

Saturday 15 June, 3pm
in partnership with MUNAÉ – Musée national de l’éducation

This double visit will take you on a journey of discovery through the creations of Doctor Auzoux. First of all, in the MUNAÉ’s reserves, we’ll be looking at a few specimens of these astonishing papier-mâché anatomical models, made by the scientist in his factory in Normandy in the 1860s. Then, at the Centre photographique, these same plant models will be revealed in a different light under the lens of Laurent Millet in a series of previously unpublished photographs produced during a creative residency.
Meeting point, 3pm, MUNAÉ Resource Centre, 6 rue de Bihorel, Rouen. The tour will then continue at the Centre photographique Rouen Normandie.

Voir en couleurs

Saturday 7th September, 3pm
in partnership with MUNAÉ – Musée national de l’éducation

Following on from the Fantastique Physique! exhibition at the MUNAÉ and echoing the Former l’hypothèse exhibition, this double visit explores the theme of optics, through the prism of learning about colour. The explanation and handling of a number of objects in the MUNAÉ exhibition, such as Newton’s disc, will be followed by an exploration of the work of artist Laurent Millet, a practising artist in his own right. A practitioner of the ancient technique of printing, he will look back at the history of this process and its link to the history of colour representation and reproduction.

Meeting point, 3pm, MUNAÉ, 185 rue Eau de Robec, Rouen. The tour will then continue at the Centre photographique Rouen Normandie.
