The Dutch photographer will present his latest book, Rooted, to be published in June 2019, and will revisit this body of work dedicated to the gardens he has observed in refugee camps in recent years.

Henk Wildschut (1967) studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and lives and works in Amsterdam. His recent work includes a commission by the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam on the theme of food (from which a book and exhibition, Food, emerged) and Ville de Calais, made in 2015 and 2017 and documenting the rise and fall of the refugee camp known as “the Jungle.” The book, published in April 2016 (in France by the art center GwinZegal) was awarded the Prix du Livre Arles 2017 and was shortlisted for the Aperture Award for best book of the year.
