LECTURE
Agnès Geoffray
Auditorium of the Museum of Fine Arts, Rouen
Thursday, February 22, 2018, 10:30 am
Agnès Geoffray, French artist, is invited by the Centre photographique Rouen Normandie to present her work as part of the Écoute l’artiste cycle, proposed by ESADHaR – officiel et RRouen
introduction by Tania Vladova, professor of aesthetics at ESADHaR.
The Photographic Center presents until May 26, 2018 the group exhibition entitled À Tire-d’aile. Exploring the representation of flight, the exhibition includes, among other works, two pieces by Agnès Geoffray, a French artist who works in particular on the question of suspense: of meaning, of functionality, of time.
The lecture will be an opportunity for a more complete presentation of her work.
At the crossroads of photography, sculpture and installation, Agnès Geoffray probes, elaborates and reactivates texts and images. Through staging, reappropriation or association, she reveals a universe of tensions – latent and mysterious. Often based on archival sources, her proposals result from a process of fictionalized reconstruction and question the idea of reminiscence.
Free of charge, according to the number of places available.
